right.
and so,
we (Claris, Joyce, XL, Bochao, Cheryl and I) went to the Singapore Science Centre for some volunteering work on Sat and Sun
it's quite fun lar
haha
manning the puzzle games booth and teaching those adorable little kids how to do a twirler
19th August 2006, Saturdaygrouped up with Joyce and XL
and started our work by carrying a box of puzzle games which includes some Safari game ( whereby u have to get the car out), a purple thing( which u have to dismantle it and fix it back again. there's a technique to this too- twist it. ), a brick game( whereby u have to arrange the bricks according to the card u chose) and lastly, some card game which is similar to the brick game.
we pushed our cart out to the President's portrait area
i was quite amazed when i saw the portrait of the President for the first time
haha
it can turn its head and smile.
after a min or two
little kids began to come up to our booth with their parents when they saw those interesting yet difficult games on the table
the prize for solving the games is- a bookmark
haha
kids are quite happy though, when they get it.
(:
had our lunch in Mac
Science Centre gave us $5 voucher to spend
(:
i thought thats quite generous of that
of course, since they dont have to pay us for what we did.
did something which kids love the most in the afternoon- Twirlers!
(:
we took out those cute little tables and chairs and began arranging out stuff
then,
we successfully attracted the kids by showing the demonstration on how the Twirler "fly"
haha
crowd began to form slowly
there's some kids which are really damn adorable lar
show u an example. (:
---
little boy: can u help me draw? *whisperme: of course! what do u want me to draw on the paper? *smilinglittle boy: -shy- his mom: write his name can?me: okie! what's ur name then?little boy: *turned away and look at his mother shyly, while begging her to say his name in place of him.mom: jordan. *smilingme: how do u spell ur name, jordan? *playing with him. hahalittle boy: j-o-r-d-a-n. gave a big grin---
so cute lar!
hahahaha
some kids are so fillial too
they made those Twirlers specially for their parents.
* i dont know why i kept typing Flippers instead of Twirlers*hahaa
our day ended like this when we closed shop at around 4.45pm
went home early as Claris had to go home for a Barbeque with her family
***
20th August 2006, Sundaysame as before, we arrived at the Reception corner around 11am
bought a pair of shorts with Joyce before we went.
it's only $7!
(:
this time round,
i grouped up with XL only
and we are supposed to do the same thing as yesterday
quite boring
but i guess i prefer that to Admin?
(:
there's this Japanese family, whose daughter is so pretty and son is so adorable
they are really friendly!!
oh and btw!
i love wearing the volunteer tag too!
hahaha
its like,
as if i'm a permanent staff there and i can walk around, while the visitors show respect to m
(:
and when u are supposed to go inside the storeroom
u just hold up the tag and -beep-
the door is open
wahaha!
nothing much in the morning
pushed back the cart and went for our lunch
its the same old Mac but i dont really mind, since i have the vouchers
(:
did Twirlers again
but without Joyce
it is indeed quieter
haha
but still,
me and XL enjoyed ourselves
we created a silly survey which shows if Singapore kids are courteous or not
and our result is-
they are rude.
if i'm not wrong
according to XL's blog
Courteous: Rude
14 : 20
7 : 10
lol
the kids today arent as cute as yesterday's one
cause some are very annoying, kept pestering us for another paper and blar
changed into our class tee and PE pants after work
to play at Water Works!
hahaha
played Catching and Iceman around the water maze
it's so freaking fun
although there's no balls
i still enjoyed myself
(:
***
had our 5 items today
so tiring that i just sat down on the floor of Lot 1 NTUC with Joyce
thought its kinda paiseh
yet very comfy
(:
wow
its been so long since i posted such long post
(:
